Terms of Service
The plain-language agreement between you and us for using Retufu — no dense legal filler, just what actually matters.
Last updated: 1 September 2026
1. Who we are
Retufu is a product of Lwekosi Technologies, a company registered in South Africa (registration number 2026/126101/07). In this document, "we", "us", "our", "Retufu" and "Lwekosi Technologies" all refer to the same business. "You" refers to the business and individuals using Retufu.
2. Using Retufu
Each Retufu subscription is one dedicated, private workspace for one business. You're responsible for the accuracy of the data your team enters, for keeping login credentials confidential, and for using the service lawfully — Retufu isn't to be used for any unlawful purpose, to store data you don't have the right to hold, or to resell or share access outside your own organisation without our agreement.
Two-factor authentication is mandatory on every account. You're responsible for keeping your team's devices and recovery codes secure.
3. Free trial
New workspaces start on a 30-day free trial, with no card required. If a trial isn't converted to a paid subscription before it ends, login is suspended until it is — nothing is deleted, and your data is exactly as you left it if you decide to continue afterwards.
4. Subscriptions & billing
Subscription fees are billed in advance on the cycle you choose (monthly, quarterly or annually), based on your seat count. We'll give you reasonable notice by email before any price change takes effect for your account. If a payment isn't received, we'll follow up directly before anything happens to your access — a workspace is only suspended after repeated non-payment, and reactivates as soon as payment is arranged.
You can cancel at any time; there's no long-term lock-in contract. Cancelling stops future billing but doesn't retroactively refund the current billing period unless we agree otherwise.
5. Your data
Your business data — customers, invoices, payroll records, everything you enter — belongs to you, not to us. It lives in your own dedicated, private environment, never pooled with any other business's data. See our Privacy Notice for how we handle personal information specifically.
Your data is backed up automatically every day. If you cancel, we'll give you a full export before any handover is complete.
6. Availability & support
We work to keep Retufu available and performant, backed by daily automated backups, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted uptime — like any hosted software, planned maintenance and unforeseen issues can happen. Support is billed only for the hours actually used, with no bundled SLA contract; higher-tier plans get faster response times and more direct access, as set out on our pricing page.
7. Intellectual property
"Retufu" and the Retufu logo are trademarks of Lwekosi Technologies. The software itself, its design and its underlying code remain our property. Nothing in these terms transfers ownership of Retufu to you — what you own is your own business data held within it.
8. Limitation of liability
We take reasonable care to keep Retufu accurate and reliable, but it's a tool, not a substitute for your own professional judgement or that of your accountant/tax practitioner. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses (like lost profits) arising from use of the service, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the fees you've paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.
9. Changes to these terms
If we make a material change to these terms, we'll let you know by email or in-app notice before it takes effect. Continuing to use Retufu after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, and any dispute will be subject to the jurisdiction of the South African courts.
